The entire Fender family is greatly saddened to learn of the passing of one of its own from the very beginning. Carson holds a very special place in Fender history and hence in the history of popular music as one of the fathers of the Stratocaster® guitar. Leo Fender designed the instrument specifically for L.A.-area guitarist Carson, a colorful Stratocaster “test pilot” who suggested many of its groundbreaking design elements.
